Rural Melvin & May City Fiber Project Update - March 14, 2024

As you may know, Evertek has a project that will bring fiber Internet and phone services to the customers in rural Melvin and rural May City. The timeline for this project has not yet been set, as we await updated engineering details.

We applied for and received funding for part of this project from the State of Iowa Broadband Grant program.

Fiber construction process occurs in 3 phases:

  • Main line fiber

  • Fiber 'drops' to homes

  • And splicing/testing - and then customers installations
